The Azerbaijani delegation participated in the international event “Turkmentravel-2026”

On April 14-16, 2026, an international tourism exhibition and conference “Turkmentravel-2026” was held in Ashgabat,at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. The event was organized with the aim of broadly promoting the country’s tourism potential, fostering mutually beneficial cooperation with international partners, and exchanging advanced practices in the tourism sector. The exhibition brought together officials, including the Chairman of the Parliament of Turkmenistan, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, as well as heads and representatives of ministries, sectoral agencies, public organizations, media institutions, and tourism-related state and private entities from various countries, diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan and representatives of international organizations also actively participated. In total, approximately 70 tourism companies from Turkmenistan and abroad were represented at the exhibition stands.

 

On April 16, a scientific and practical conference entitled “Tourism – a Bridge of Cultures: Sustainable Development and International Cooperation in Tourism” was convened, with the participation of international guests, academic staff, and students specializing in tourism.

 

Within the framework of the event, a delegation led by Mr. Kenan Aliyev, Head of Staff of the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, engaged in panel discussions, where they provided comprehensive insights into Azerbaijan’s tourism potential, shared relevant statistical data, and highlighted major international events hosted in the country. He also gave an interview to the Turkmenistaninfo newspaper on these matters. Furthermore, the Azerbaijani delegation took part in the “Türkiye Tourism Week” event organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Turkmenistan.
