
Gismet Gozalov was born in Salyan region of Azerbaijan in 1967.
He received higher education at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Baku State University of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Gismet Gozalov began his diplomatic career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1995.
He was responsible for the development of relations between Azerbaijan and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and participated in two summits during his work at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1995 to 1998.
In 1998-2011, he worked at the Consulate General as Vice Consul, consul, replaced the Acting Consul General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Istanbul, and at various times as head of the Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Gismet Gozalov was appointed Deputy Secretary General by the decision of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States in 2012-2014.
From 2015 to 2018, he served as Deputy Head of the Second European Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He was appointed Deputy Secretary General by the decision of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States in 2019-2022.
Gismet Gozalov was appointed to the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Turkmenistan by decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on August 29, 2023.
Married and has 2 children.
