A Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Azerbaijan Equestrian Federation and the “Turkmen Atlary” State Association on cooperation in the field of equestrian sport and the equestrian industry
On 4 March 2026, a magnificent cultural event featuring the participation of Turkmenistan’s legendary national equestrian games group “Galkynyş” took place in Baku at the Bina Equestrian Centre. The performance of the renowned group transformed the evening into a celebration of friendship and art, showcasing the richness of Turkmen equestrian traditions and the unique mastery of professional riders.
The creative collective, which was awarded the highest prize at the Monte-Carlo International Circus Festival in 2025, presented its program to the Azerbaijani public for the first time. During the performance, the artists demonstrated the most complex elements of equestrian artistry, virtuoso acrobatic techniques, and flawless synchronization, highlighting the high level of professionalism and the ancient traditions of the Turkmen school of equestrian art. The dynamic and spectacular show was received with great admiration, and the audience welcomed it with prolonged applause.
The program also featured performances by masters of the State Circus of Turkmenistan and the State Equestrian Circus named after Gorogly in the city of Arkadag, who presented colorful acrobatic and artistic numbers reflecting the uniqueness of the national culture and modern achievements of the country's circus art.
One of the most memorable moments of the event was the ceremonial procession of riders carrying the state flags of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, symbolically emphasizing the brotherly relations between the two countries, as well as the strengthening of cultural and humanitarian cooperation. The event made a significant contribution to the development of bilateral relations and to the promotion of Turkmenistan’s cultural heritage abroad.
Within the framework of the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of equestrian sport and the equestrian industry was signed between the Equestrian Federation of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the “Turkmen Atlary” State Association.
