Azerbaijan National Day in Turkmenistan – A Brilliant Showcase of Our Cultural Heritage
Within the framework of the III United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), held from 5 to 8 August 2025 in the Avaza National Tourism Zone of Turkmenistan, “Azerbaijan National Days” are being organized. The events aim to present Azerbaijan’s rich culture, historical heritage, and artistic traditions to an international audience.
The Azerbaijan pavilion at the conference venue will be open to visitors. It will feature books, brochures, souvenirs, carpets, traditional scarves (kelaghayi), and applied art samples reflecting the country’s historical and cultural heritage. Visitors will also have the opportunity to engage with handicrafts that embody Azerbaijan’s ancient artisanal traditions.
In the open-air exhibition entitled “Jewels of Azerbaijan’s National Heritage”, carpets, inlay work, lace, jewelry, tekhalduz, and kelaghayi pieces from the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum’s collection will be showcased. Masterclasses in carpet weaving, lace-making, jewelry crafting, and kelaghayi production will also be conducted.
The culinary section of the exhibition will present traditional Azerbaijani dishes and desserts, offering visitors an immersive experience of the country’s hospitality and culinary heritage.
On 5 August, a gala concert will be held as part of the conference opening ceremony. On 6 August, a grand concert program will mark Azerbaijan National Day, culminating on 8 August with a final gala concert featuring performances by distinguished Azerbaijani artists.
