Ambassador Gismat Gozalov has delivered a speech at the presentation ceremony of Magtymguly Pyragy’s poetry collection “Ashig Olmusham” (I have fallen in love)
At a ceremonial presentation held in Ashgabat at Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, under the auspices of the Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation, the Turkmen poet Magtymguly Pyragy’s poetry collection “Ashig olmusham” was published in both Azerbaijani and Turkmen, and the Ambassador Gismat Gozelov delivered an address.
The event was attended by Chinar Rustamova, Executive Secretary of Turkmenistan’s National Commission for UNESCO, Ambassador Gismat Gozalov, Leyla Hasanova, Project manager of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, scholars from the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and representatives of the Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation.
In his speech, Ambassador G.Gozalov emphasized that Pyragy’s creative legacy not only reflects the national identity and spiritual world of the Turkmen people, but also constitutes an integral part of the shared cultural heritage of all Turkic peoples. He noted that the poet’s themes of peace, friendship, justice, and universal solidarity continue to inspire unity, inter-cultural understanding, and spiritual harmony among Turkic states, resonating with the spirit of cooperation and advancement across the Turkish world.
Referring to the importance of gaining international recognition of Pyragy’s heritage through UNESCO, the Ambassador stated that publishing “Ashig olmusham” in both Azerbaijani and Turkmen is more than a literary event — it is a significant initiative for strengthening friendship, mutual respect, and spiritual bonds between our peoples. He added that the presentation of the book stands as a living testament to our peoples’ fidelity to shared roots, cultural affinity, and enduring fraternal relations.
