Press release on the telephone conversation between Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov
On 7 March, Rashid Meredov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, placed a telephone call to Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
During the telephone conversation, the parties discussed issues arising from the drone attacks carried out by the Islamic Republic of Iran against the territory of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov provided the other side with detailed information regarding the drone attacks.
He stated that this attack against the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan constitutes a violation of the norms and principles of international law and serves to heighten tensions in the region.
It was further conveyed that Iran had been requested to provide an explanation regarding the attack within a short period of time.
The Turkmen minister noted that the current situation is a matter of concern. The ministers also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
