Speaker of the Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova, met with the Chairperson of the Parliament of Turkmenistan, Dunyagozel Gulmanova, in Bukhara
Sahiba Gafarova, who participated in the Second Asian Women’s Forum held in the Uzbek city of Bukhara, met there with the Chairperson of the Parliament of Turkmenistan, Dunyagozel Gulmanova.
During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the successful development of friendly and brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan in all areas. The parties noted that the high-level political dialogue between the heads of state plays an important role in further strengthening bilateral relations.
During the conversation, the importance of the Second Asian Women’s Forum was discussed, and it was emphasized that the forum plays an important role in increasing women’s participation in socio-political life and expanding cooperation among women parliamentarians from different countries. Sahiba Gafarova stressed that the Forum contributes to strengthening the role of women in decision-making processes, as well as to developing cooperation among the parliaments of participating countries and reinforcing regional solidarity.
Speaking about interparliamentary relations, Sahiba Gafarova said that cooperation in this field is developing successfully. It was noted that friendship groups operate in the parliaments of both countries, and the parliaments also cooperate within the framework of international parliamentary organizations.
Dunyagozel Gulmanova also noted the current high level of relations between the two countries and their parliaments, emphasizing that mutual visits and close contacts contribute to further deepening relations.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on strengthening cooperation on international and regional platforms, prospects for the development of interparliamentary relations, and other issues of mutual interest.
