A Memorandum of Cooperation has been signed between the trade unions of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan
A meeting was held at the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (ATUC) with a delegation from the National Trade Union Center of Turkmenistan.
Chairman of the Confederation, Sahib Mammadov, spoke about the friendly and cooperative relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, emphasizing that thanks to the political will of the heads of state, relations between the two countries have reached the level of strategic partnership. He noted that this creates broad opportunities for the development of relations between the trade unions of the two countries. In recent years, these ties have expanded further through mutual visits and exchanges of ideas and experience.
During the meeting, detailed information was provided about ATUC’s efforts to ensure reliable protection of labor rights, improve the quality of services provided to members, and implement innovative approaches, including the digitalization of the voucher system and the modernization of sanatorium and resort services. It was noted that these initiatives contribute to increasing efficiency within the trade union system.
Chairwoman of the National Trade Union Center of Turkmenistan, Oguljennet Berdiliyeva, spoke about the activities of trade unions in her country, the work carried out to protect labor rights and ensure the social protection of trade union members, and expressed interest in strengthening relations with Azerbaijani trade unions.
At the end of the meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation and the National Trade Union Center of Turkmenistan. The document envisages the institutional development of relations between the two organizations, support for joint initiatives and projects, as well as the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation.
As part of the visit, the Turkmen delegation became acquainted with the activities of ATUC’s “Kurort” Tourism Information Center and the Labor Protection and Legal Assistance Center. Representatives of the National Trade Union Center of Turkmenistan also visited the “Guneshli” and “Absheron” health centers, as well as the “Miras” recreation center, where they showed interest in the services provided, treatment and preventive procedures, infrastructure, and recreational opportunities.
