The Azerbaijani delegation participated in the “TIF-2025” forum dedicated to Turkmenistan’s Independence Day

On 18–19 September 2025, Turkmenistan hosted a series of events dedicated to the 34th anniversary of its independence, including the Exhibition of Economic Achievements at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Turkmenistan Investment Forum (TIF-2025) in the Avaza National Tourism Zone. These events were organized with the aim of showcasing the country’s recent achievements, strengthening cooperation between public and private sectors, and creating new opportunities for Turkmenistan’s economic and technological development. The events, primarily focused on economics, energy and industry, oil and gas, transport, investment promotion, and related fields, featured presentations of ongoing projects. More than 800 delegates from 45 leading international companies participated, alongside Azerbaijani representatives such as First Deputy Minister of Finance Anar Karimov, Deputy Minister of Economy Sahib Alekperov, Ambassador Gismat Gozalov, and members of Azerbaijan’s private sector.

At the plenary session titled “Turkmenistan’s Investment Attractiveness as a Factor of Strategic Efficiency”, S. Alekperov highlighted the importance of the high level of trust and mutual understanding between the Heads of State of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan in strengthening bilateral cooperation. Stressing the implementation of significant joint projects and initiatives, he pointed to the growing effectiveness of cooperation within the framework of the Middle Corridor as a clear example. According to him, Azerbaijan–Turkmenistan transit transport has shown an upward trend in recent years, with volumes reaching 1.28 million tons in the first seven months of 2025, an increase of 13% compared to the same period last year. This outcome clearly demonstrates the strengthening of cooperation in the transport and logistics sectors.

The Forum also highlighted Azerbaijan’s favorable business environment, the extensive reconstruction and development projects in the liberated territories, the opportunities and incentives available for investors, as well as the country’s strategic transport and logistics infrastructure, including the prospects of the Zangezur Corridor, the Alat Free Economic Zone, and industrial parks. The Deputy Minister emphasized the potential for expanding joint activities in energy, trade, mutual investment promotion, transport, agriculture, and other sectors.

In conclusion, S. Alekperov announced that the First Azerbaijan International Investment Forum will take place in Baku on 22–23 September 2025 and invited turkmen companies and organizations to take an active part in this significant event.
