Ambassador Gismat Gozalov delivered a speech at a briefing held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan

On April 28, 2026, a briefing on the country’s foreign policy was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

 

The briefing was chaired by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and brought together ambassadors accredited in Turkmenistan, representatives of international organizations, diplomatic staff, and members of the media.

 

In his address, Rashid Meredov outlined the principal directions of Turkmenistan’s international engagement, in line with the Foreign Policy Concept of Turkmenistan for 2022–2028.

 

The event also featured statements by several foreign ambassadors and representatives of international organizations.

 

In his speech, Ambassador Gozalov highlighted the key priorities of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy, with particular emphasis on the importance of its policy of permanent neutrality. He further underscored Turkmenistan’s constructive role in the international arena, noting the country’s increased diplomatic activity since the beginning of 2026, including a series of foreign visits and high-level meetings.

 

Ambassador Gozalov also drew attention to Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan relations, emphasizing that the close cooperation between the two countries is firmly based on the principles of brotherhood, mutual respect, and strategic partnership. He noted that these ties continue to deepen, supported by the strong political will of the leadership of both states.
