Ambassador Gismat Gozalov delivered remarks at the presentation ceremony of the Azerbaijani-language edition of the book authored by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov
On 22 December 2025, a presentation ceremony was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat for the Azerbaijani translation of the book “Ağlın gövhəri” (The Jewel of Wisdom) by the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The book was translated and published by the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation.
The event, which was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Mehri Bashimova and the heads of Turkmenistan’s diplomatic missions abroad, brought together the heads and staff members of foreign diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan, representatives of the media, as well as scholars, students, and members of the public.
Speakers at the conference included M. Bashimova, Ambassador Qismat Gozalov, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan Gurbanmammet Elyasov, the Head of the Turkmenistan–Azerbaijan Inter-Parliamentary Working Group from the Turkmen side Annamuhammet Sarchayev, the Rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Gulshat Yusupova and the Academic Secretary of the Makhtumkuli Institute of Language, Literature and Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan Kakajan Janbekov.
In his remarks, Ambassador Gozalov emphasized that the publication of “Ağlın gövhəri” (The Jewel of Wisdom) in the Azerbaijani language is of particular significance in terms of presenting this valuable work to Azerbaijani readers. He noted that the Azerbaijani edition of the book makes an important contribution to strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between the two nations. The work offers Azerbaijani readers comprehensive insight into the history, rich spiritual heritage of the Turkmen people, as well as the development of science, education, and culture in Turkmenistan. At the same time, “Ağlın gövhəri” (The Jewel of Wisdom) represents a vivid embodiment of the shared spiritual values, historical roots, and traditions of brotherhood between our peoples. Its translation into Azerbaijani gives new impetus to literary and cultural cooperation and further consolidates the spiritual bridge among the Turkic peoples.
Touching upon bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, Ambassador Gozalov stressed that the fraternal and strategic partnership between the two countries has undergone substantial development and was further strengthened in 2025 through the political will of the Heads of State, expanding on the basis of mutual trust and friendship. He underlined that the current level of relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan is gratifying, and that recent high-level visits, meetings, and diplomatic engagements have intensified bilateral dialogue, creating a solid foundation for expanded cooperation in all areas.
The Ambassador also conveyed his congratulations on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the recognition of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality and highlighted the significance of the international events held in this context. He noted that Azerbaijan holds Turkmenistan’s UN-recognized policy of permanent neutrality in high regard and has joined, as co-sponsor, the UN resolutions adopted in 1995–2025 on this matter.
