Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of Turkmenistan Visits the DOST Center
A meeting was held at the DOST Agency between the Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Anar Aliyev, and the Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of Turkmenistan, Mukhammetseit Sylapov.
During his official visit to Azerbaijan, Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of Turkmenistan, Mukhammetseit Sylapov, visited the Baku DOST Center No. 1 to familiarize himself with the public services provided there. Presentations were delivered on the DOST Concept and the digital services implemented in the field of social protection.
Following the visit, an official meeting took place at the DOST Agency between Minister Anar Aliyev and Minister Mukhammetseit Sylapov.
Anar Aliyev noted that one of the documents exchanged earlier that day in the presence of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and the President of Turkmenistan, H.E. Serdar Berdimuhamedov, was the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of Turkmenistan. He emphasized that the Memorandum would establish a legal framework for regular dialogue, the exchange of experience, and the implementation of joint projects between the two ministries, thereby further expanding bilateral cooperation.
The parties highlighted the considerable potential for cooperation and the exchange of expertise in modernizing social insurance systems, digitalizing public services, and developing vocational training and retraining programs. They also noted the importance of exploring cooperation in the areas of occupational safety, social services, employment policy development, pension system reforms, and support for vulnerable groups. It was emphasized that the newly signed cooperation document would facilitate significant progress in these areas.
It was further noted that the draft Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Pension Provision between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of Turkmenistan has already been prepared.
Mukhammetseit Sylapov stated that important steps would continue to be taken to strengthen bilateral cooperation and stressed that the regular exchange of experience in the implementation of social reforms is mutually beneficial for both countries.
The meeting also addressed the role of the Labour Center of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), established in Baku, in promoting cooperation among the Organization’s member states in the fields of labour, employment, and social protection.
The parties also discussed prospects for further cooperation between the two ministries.
