“Dream of Paradise” Screened in Ashgabat
As part of the Days of Azerbaijani Culture held in Turkmenistan, a series of presentations dedicated to Azerbaijan’s national cinema took place.
The feature-documentary film “Dream of Paradise” was screened at the “Ashgabat” Cinema.
It was noted that the film was produced in 2025 by order of the Ministry of Culture in connection with the 200th anniversary of the prominent Azerbaijani artist Mirza Gadim Iravani (1825–1875).
The screenplay was written by Yaver Rzayev, and the film was directed by Elkhan Jafarov.
The film tells the story of the life and creative legacy of Mirza Gadim Iravani, who laid the foundation of easel (panel) painting in Azerbaijani fine arts. It also highlights the history and cultural heritage of the ancient city of Irevan (Yerevan). In addition, the film sheds light on the cultural heritage of Irevan intellectuals and the deportation of Azerbaijanis from the territory of Armenia, presenting these issues on the basis of historical facts and archival materials.
