Azərbaycan Respublikasının Prezidenti İlham Əliyev və Türmənistan Prezidenti Sərdar Berdiməhəmmədov Şuşada Bülbülün ev-muzeyində olublar
On 23 June, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, visited Bulbul’s House Museum in Shusha.
Member of Parliament Polad Bulbuloghlu briefed the distinguished guest on the history of the museum. He noted that the house where his father was born and spent his childhood was converted into Bulbul’s House Museum in 1982, pursuant to a decision of the Executive Committee of the Shusha City Council of People's Deputies, following instructions from the National Leader.
The building was renovated in 1982–1983, a museum exhibition was established inside, and an administrative building was constructed in front of it.
The house museum ceased operations after being subjected to acts of Armenian vandalism during the occupation of Shusha. Like many of Azerbaijan's historical and cultural monuments, its restoration began after the ancient city was liberated from occupation.
A new bust of Bulbul has been erected in the museum courtyard.
The original bust, which was vandalized during the occupation of Shusha, has also been preserved there as visible evidence of the crimes committed against Azerbaijan's cultural heritage during the occupation.
